Location
Naremburn is a residential suburb on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. It is six kilometres north of Sydney’s CBD and is in the local government area of the Municipality of Willoughby. Naremburn is only one square kilometre in area and is bordered by the suburbs of Northbridge, Cammeray, Crows Nest and St. Leonards
Household Occupancy
The predominant age group in Naremburn falls between 30-39 years. In relation to demographics, couples with children make up the largest group of residents. They currently occupy 27% of households, only marginally greater than childless couples who make up 26% of the population and single parents, 25%. 35% of residents in Naremburn are purchasing their homes, 35% are renting and 28% own their homes outright. Those who are purchasing their homes would be paying more than $2,000 a month in mortgage repayments. The majority of residents in Naremburn are employed in professional occupations, earning salaries of greater than $103k per annum.

The Neighbourhood
Naremburn is home to four parks, covering approximately seven per cent of the total area. Naremburn Park is a local hotspot offering something for every family member. The park includes barbecues, picnic tables, extensive playground equipment for children, a bike/walking track for the more active residents and a leash free dog exercise area. There are also two sportsgrounds that are used for cricket, rugby and soccer, two basketball/netball courts and a bocce court. These grounds are used on the weekend by local sporting clubs. Naremburn School on Willoughby Road is a special needs school that offers general NSW curriculum subjects including Maths and English as well as special programs including VET and TAFE courses. Naremburn has only a small shopping trip on Willoughby Road.
Transport
Naremburn is only a fifteen minute drive to Sydney’s CBD over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. There are a number of bus routes that stop at the Warringah Freeway in Naremburn before continuing to the CBD. Some services also stop at other Lower North Shore suburbs including North Sydney, Milson’s Point and Crows Nest. St Leonards is the closest railway station to Naremburn. It is on the North Shore line of the City Rail network and is approximately a twenty minute journey to Central Station. Services run north to Hornsby and south to the CBD before continuing west to Burwood, Parramatta and Penrith.
Restaurants, Accommodation, Amenities
A number of restaurants of international cuisines line Willoughby Road in Naremburn. Thaitanium, Naremburn Pizzeria and the Cream Gourmet Deli are three local favourites. Many locals flock also to the nearby suburb of Crows Nest where a much wider selection of restaurants line the main streets and eateries. As a heavily residential suburb, there are limited accommodation options in Naremburn. The Rhodes Apartment in Naremburn is one of the few facilities available. It sleeps seven and boasts massive indoor and outdoor entertaining areas including a swimming pool and barbecue area. Its steep pricing may make it out of reach for most. It is only a five minute drive to more affordable options in Cammeray including the Cammeray Gardens and Nicolas Royal Motels. Both are both popular destinations offering picturesque surroundings of Sydney’s Middle Harbour and selected areas of the untamed Australian bush.
